Spreading Pawsitivity Profile: Boxer Butts & Other Mutts

Spreading Pawsitivity is our monthly donation event through which we support local charities, many of them pet-related. We are proud of all the work that Asheville’s non-profits do, and we are excited to help support them!

This month’s event is Saturday, October 19th, 2019, and our Spreading Pawsitivity proceeds will go to Boxer Butts & Other Mutts. We love the work that this organization does to find homes for rescued dogs in Buncombe and Henderson counties.

Boxer Butts & Other Mutts has been in operation since 2011. Through their network of volunteers, which they call their “Rescue Family,” BBOM works to rescue as many dogs as possible from a life of abuse and neglect, and to place them in homes where they will be loved and cared for. The organization holds adoption events and sets up individual meet-and-greet appointments with families and individuals who are interested in fostering or adopting a rescue pup.

Most of BBOM’s dogs are pulled from local shelters, and they are often in need of serious medical help and rehabilitation. BBOM is committed to fully vetting each dog at their vet in Mills River, NC, where each rescue pet receives vaccines, rabies shots, spaying or neutering, and micro-chipping. Each dog is then sent to to their new forever home with two months’ worth of heartworm medicine and a special care package.

Boxer Butts & Other Mutts operates fully on donations and fundraisers, which fund each rescue pet’s vet bills, pull fees, and medical needs. Opportunities to help BBOM in their mission include applying to foster or adopt a rescue pet, attending a fundraising eventdonating either cash or needed supplies, and volunteering with them.

We encourage you to check out the wonderful work that Boxer Butts & Other Mutts is doing in our area. Consider becoming part of their Rescue Family to help further their mission of compassion. And come see us at the spa on October 19th for a walk-in bath and nail trim to support Boxer Butts!
