How to Spa
Be prepared to be greeted with lots of wagging tails and barking upon entering the spa! While Pawsitivity is a relaxing and quiet environment most of the day, everyone gets excited when new friends come to play! Please bring your pet on a leash in case there are others checking in at the same time as your pet. Also, be sure to inform us at the time of booking of any concerns you may have about your pet's temperament with other dogs. While we try to provide playcare for all of our canine guests, we do not allow excessively dominant dogs in group play. If your pet prefers his own space, please plan and schedule accordingly so they can be picked up right away.
While we provide water, treats, and potty breaks throughout the day, we recommend following your pet's normal morning walking and eating routine before his spa day. We provide soft towels for your pet to relax on while here, but feel free to bring his own bed if you prefer. Be sure to let us know of any dietary restrictions your pet has. If they are on a limited-ingredient diet, feel free to bring their own treats with them.
We require up-to-date Rabies vaccines or Titer tests for all spa guests and Distemper/Parvo vaccines for those under 3 years.
If your pet is unaltered they will not be allowed to participate in playcare. Please be aware of this when scheduling so that you can pick them up as soon as they are finished with their styling appointment.
We do not groom or allow intact females in the spa space when in heat.
These policies are for the comfort, safety, and well-being of all of the canine spa guests at Pawsitivity Pet Spa. We appreciate your understanding.
We require at least a 24-hour notice for all cancellations or reschedules to allow us time to fill the space with a customer from our waiting list. If you cancel less than 24 hours from the appointment, you will be charged a $35 cancellation fee. If you no-show for an appointment, you may be charged up to half the price for the original appointment on your next scheduled one. Because Pawsitivity Pet Spa runs on a different schedule from most grooming salons, we can allow only a 15-minute window after your scheduled time for you to arrive.
All pets are strongly recommended to be current on all vaccinations and are required to be up-to-date on their Rabies vaccination in order to receive grooming services. Dogs under the age of 4 must also be up-to-date on Distemper and Parvo vaccines.
Early Pick-up/Late Pick-up
Because of the open environment of the spa, please do not arrive before your scheduled pick-up time. The last 10 to 15 minutes of the spa appointment are needed to apply the finishing touches to your pet's style. When your dog sees you, they will be excited and unable to focus on their stylist, which increases the risk of stress or injury.
If you would like your dog to stay with us longer than the standard appointment time please let us know when making your appointment, to ensure space for them in daycare. If you are going to be significantly later than a standard pick-up time, we will charge an additional 5 dollars an hour for daycare. In the event that your pet is left with us after hours, a late fee will be applied of a minimum of 20 dollars per 15 minutes.
We use the very best products available to prevent unnecessary pulling on your pet's coat. Most tangles can be easily removed with proper product use and brushing techniques. However, we do not do excessive dematting, since it is painful and can make the entire grooming process something your pet dreads instead of being enjoyable. If your pet is matted, we will discuss options at the time of drop-off. Be aware that small amounts of dematting will incur a fee, and excessive dematting will not be done.
